A stick is a very dangerous weapon, especially because it gives the stick holder the advantage of having a long reach. The most dangerous distance against an aggressor holding a stick is between 2 and 3 meters.
If you stand at 3 meters or more the best is to try to run away, if the situation allows you to do so, e.g if you don't have a third party to protect.
If you stand at less than 3 meters and you cannot run away, the best is to close the distance in order to break the reach advantage of the stick holder. In that case burst forward while protecting yourself and meanwhile counterattack with a strong punch to the face of the attacker, continue with more attacks and disarm the attacker.

In the streets troublemakers rarely hang out alone, so once you got caught into a fight with one of them you must be ready to deal with more than one. In Krav Maga defending against multiple aggressors is an essential part of our training. Today we worked on defending an arm bar choke while keeping the second aggressor at distance with kicks.
