Our school is dedicated to providing students with quality instruction and a path of growth as a practitioner of Krav Maga. Whether you have no previous experience in martial arts or combat sports, or you have previous training in another martial system, Krav Maga will have something to offer you. Our system provides a solid and time-tested perspective on self-defense, with principles and movements that are easy to learn, understand and apply.

A Unique Self-Defense System

Krav Maga is easy to learn, because it is based on simple principles, clear logic, natural reaction and it has a unique advanced teaching and training methodology. Therefore it is the ideal system for those who want to learn in the shortest possible time how to defend themselves and become able to protect their loved ones in the street.

Krav Maga self-defense principles are based on effective defense, immediate and powerful counter attack to vulnerable points and tactical positioning. Krav Maga training involves punches, elbow strikes, knees and kicks; defense against all kinds of strikes, various grabs, chokes or takedown; defenses against weapons threat and attacks; all techniques are practice in realistic drills.

Safety in Training

At KMG Japan we prioritize safety in training. Imi Lichtenfeld the founder of Krav Maga, used to say “In Krav Maga, the aim is not to get hurt, so don’t get hurt.”  By this, Imi meant that we should avoid getting hurt in a confrontation, but that we also should not get hurt in training.

In this respect, we ask students to be in proper attire and gear in class, and we always go through the proper warm ups and stretching at the start of the class, to ensure that the students are in the right condition for training.

Improve Your Fitness and Mindset

By training Krav Maga, you will not only improve your physical fighting skills, but also your mental resources.  Mental conditioning is an important part of Krav Maga training, because no matter how physically strong you are, if you are not mentally prepared to deal with a violent confrontation, then you will likely fail.

Exercises such as determination drills, stress drills, and visualizations are meant to prepare you to fight and to win. However, a stronger mind will also be beneficial in your daily life, as it will make you more confident and better able to overcome difficulties. In this regard, Krav Maga is a skill that will have direct impact on your mindset and your ability to deal with the challenges of daily life.

Suitable for All

Krav Maga training is suitable for all -- young and old (kids can join adult classes from 14 years old), male and female -- so long as it is practiced under the guidance of a qualified instructor. The Krav Maga curriculum is divided into grades and levels, so students can progress in a clear and structured training program that will enable them to advance step by step and attain a good proficiency in the system.

What to Expect in Training

Krav Maga training includes the following topics:
  • How to prevent, avoid and escape conflict or physical threat
