Sunday Dec. 2, we conducted the Hostage Situation Seminar in Tokyo. The idea of this seminar was to give participants a little understanding about what can be done technically and tactically is such situation and, of course, to have good time while learning some useful stuff. The Seminar was conducted by Edwin Peng who is a military Krav Maga specialist from KMG. It was a very exiting seminar with a lot of action and everybody had a lot of fun. Thank you to all the participants!

Saturday evening was the Practitioner review seminar hold in Nakameguro (Tokyo). This seminar is specifically meant to prepare each participant to review their Krav Maga curriculum in respect to their current level and hence prepare for the next level grading. Great group of participant, excellent instructors and wonderful atmosphere.
Thursday evening with worked on Ground Fighting. In Krav Maga we believe that in a situation of self defense fighting on the ground must be avoided as much as possible and and this for several reasons: - On the ground the heavy guy has the avantage (in a situation of self defense the attacker in often bigger than the defender), - On the ground it is extremely difficult to defend against a sudden knife stab, - On the ground we can't fight against multiple attackers (bad guys looking for trouble are often not alone), However ground fighting is very common in the street these days so it is important to acquire knowledge about what to do is such situation and also understand what the attacker is going to try to do. So that was the purpose of this class. And also we must admit that ground fighting is a lot of fun... :) Little training outside on Sunday, working on defending punches. Sunday afternoon we conducted a little seminar about Defending Knife Attack. Knife is the most common weapon use by aggressor in the street so it is important to know how to deal with such dangerous situation. Krav Maga is not only about protecting yourself, it is also about protecting others. Here is simple and effective way of defending your friend against an aggressor. Thursday evening, drill about defending attack with a stick combined with ground fighting. It is fun to learn how to defend yourself and meanwhile to get in a better physical shape! Friday evening we celebrated KMG Japan 3rd anniversary with some of our most faithful students. Thank you to all the members who have been joining KMG Japan for the past 3 years. You are all part of this wonderful adventure.
We have many training drills in Krav Maga. In the video below I demonstrate an advanced drill where the attacker constantly feeds the defender with attacks of different types (here we do chokes or grabs, knife stabs and stick attacks) and the defender defends, counterattacks and reset. The attacks and defenses must be as realistic as possible in term of speed and power. The drill must be intense and last for about 3 to 5 minutes. April 22nd Master Eyal Yanilov president and head instructor of Krav Maga Global was in Tokyo to conduct a great seminar. Eyal Yanilov is the highest ranked Krav Maga master in the world. See below the video of the seminar. |
