Thursday evening, drill about defending attack with a stick combined with ground fighting. It is fun to learn how to defend yourself and meanwhile to get in a better physical shape!
We have many training drills in Krav Maga. In the video below I demonstrate an advanced drill where the attacker constantly feeds the defender with attacks of different types (here we do chokes or grabs, knife stabs and stick attacks) and the defender defends, counterattacks and reset. The attacks and defenses must be as realistic as possible in term of speed and power. The drill must be intense and last for about 3 to 5 minutes.

Fighting on the ground is very common nowadays due to the popularity of Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jujitsu, but in self-defense fighting on the ground is something to be avoided at all cost as we are much more vulnerable against multiple attackers or knife stab. This is why Krav Maga ground work training mainly focuses on defending Takedowns, and defending attacks while on the ground and immediately standing up.
